If you assumed that God was full of love and grace, and had your highest good in mind, what is God dreaming for you? What would you imagine? Would it be the life you have now, or would He dream for something different?
What would be in your highest good? Would he want you to have a Ferrari? Would it be to meet your deepest needs for personal fulfillment? Could it be both? How might God’s dreams for you involve other people? What would you imagine?
Here are my thoughts on what I imagine a perfect God full of love and grace dreams of for us:
1. We would know we are loved
We would know deep down that we are loved. We would not need to seek love and approval from others. Our value and sense of belonging would be unquestionably clear and unshakable.
2. We would know our purpose.
We would no longer feel unwanted or that we were an accident. We would know that we are specifically meant to be here. We would know that we matter – that we are important. Our purpose wouldn’t be in isolation. We would know how our purpose weaves and combines with other people in community. Our purpose ultimately would revolve around other people.
3. Our personhood achieves it’s full potential.
We become the fully realized person that God intended for us to be from the beginning. We would no longer lash out in anger or fear. We wouldn’t be concerned about what other people think. We would be fully healed on the inside. We would be bold, leaders doing what’s good and right. We would be driven by love. And we would act in highest integrity.
4. We would experience utmost fulfillment.
We would have an incredible sense of satisfaction and fulfillment because we are living out our purpose and we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of other people. We would be living from the place of love and abundance rather than a place of fear and lack.
