This week I am going over how to discover our calling. Our calling is unique to each of us. It flows from who we are.
Too often we look for our calling to be provided by some external source. We think that our calling is somewhere out there. If only we could find it. However, our calling comes from inside of us. It’s already here, in us. We just need to figure out what that is.
When we do discover our calling, it will make sense to us. Because there will be such an alignment between who we are and our calling, it will just seem to flow. I’m not saying that there won’t be challenges and bad days. I’m saying that it will naturally fit, and it will fit so well, we won’t be able to imagine it any other way.
When we discover our calling, we will say things like, “I’ve been doing this my whole life in some form or another,” or “I knew when I was a kid I wanted to do this; I just forgot as an adult.”
Often growing up, we’ve hidden ourselves to protect ourselves. We constantly present a facade of who we think others want to see. We’ve buried our dreams believing that lie that normal people don’t live their dreams. A big part of discovering our calling is having the courage to let our true selves come out and dream again.
To discover our calling, we need to rediscover who we are and let our calling flow from us.
What about you? What have you done your whole life whether it was a part of your job or not?
