This Christmas

nativityThis Christmas it would be good to bring a little more meaning. Of course, we’ll probably have the gifts, the toys, the gadgets, the games, the puzzles, and the cookies. In addition to all of these, remember to make Christmas a time when we love generously.

Instead of just giving things, loving generously is about giving of ourselves. We can give with our time, our words, and our actions.

We can give with our time by going for a walk with someone, really listening, and, just being with the other person in acceptance.

We can give with our words by encouraging, supporting, and responding to the deeper meaning behind other’s words.

We can give with our actions by offering a helping hand, by serving, and by going the extra mile for someone.

This Christmas Rena and I celebrate Jesus’ birth. All those years ago, God didn’t give toys, gadgets, or cookies. Instead God gave himself. We think this is a great model to follow.

We wish you a very merry and a bit more meaningful Christmas this year.
